定义

Autologous fat grafting (fat transfer) is a procedure in which fat is removed from one area of the body by liposuction, processed, and injected into another area to add volume.

快速回答

Where is the fat harvested from for fat grafting?

Fat is usually harvested by liposuction from the abdomen, flanks, thighs or buttocks, chosen by the amount of fat available and the patient's contour goals. A 2026 systematic review examined whether donor site affects graft survival in breast fat transfer. The donor area is treated like any liposuction site, with its own recovery and risks.

概述

Autologous fat grafting (also called fat transfer or lipofilling) is a surgical procedure. The patient's own fat is removed, usually by liposuction, then processed and injected elsewhere in the body to add volume or correct contour defects. Neuber first reported it in 1893, and the Coleman technique standardised it in the 1990s. It is used for breast reconstruction and augmentation, facial contouring, scar and burn revision, and buttock (gluteal) augmentation. How much of the graft survives varies, and long-term evidence is limited because studies measure outcomes in different ways. In the US, fat that is only minimally processed and reinjected during the same operation may fall under an FDA exception. Isolating cellular components does not qualify. Gluteal grafting carries a documented risk of fatal fat embolism. Readers should check the surgeon's credentials, the injection depth and the facility's accreditation.
