What is the difference between breast implants and fat grafting?

Implants are medical devices that give a predictable, larger increase in size but are not lifetime devices and can rupture or cause capsular contracture. Fat grafting uses the patient's own fat, avoids a device and can improve the donor area, but gives a smaller, less predictable gain and may need repeat sessions.
