Breast Fat Grafting
Also known as: fat transfer breast augmentation, autologous fat breast augmentation, 가슴 지방이식, 자가지방 가슴성형
Breast fat grafting (fat transfer breast augmentation) uses the patient's own liposuctioned fat to modestly enlarge or reshape the breast without an implant.
What is breast fat grafting?
Breast fat grafting, or fat transfer breast augmentation, enlarges or reshapes the breast using fat taken from the patient's own body by liposuction. The fat is processed and injected into the breast in small amounts. It gives a modest, natural increase without an implant, but part of the graft is resorbed, so more than one session may be needed.
Key facts
| Predicate | Value | Source |
|---|---|---|
| Suitable for | People wanting a relatively small increase in breast size who have enough donor fat (ASPS) | [1] |
| Sessions | More than one session may be needed because part of the graft is resorbed | [1] |
| Imaging note | Fat necrosis, cysts and calcifications can appear on mammograms and must be interpreted by a radiologist | [1] |
Overview
According to the American Society of Plastic Surgeons, fat transfer breast augmentation suits people who want a relatively small increase in breast size and have enough donor fat. Volume gain per session is limited by graft survival, and results may need repeat sessions. Calcifications and cysts can occur and should be distinguished from other findings on breast imaging.
