SVF-assisted Fat Grafting
Also known as: cell-assisted lipotransfer, CAL, stem cell-enriched fat grafting, SVF 지방이식, 줄기세포 지방이식
SVF-assisted fat grafting (a form of cell-assisted lipotransfer) enriches the fat graft with stromal vascular fraction isolated from part of the harvested fat, with the aim of improving graft survival.
What is stem cell fat grafting?
"Stem cell fat grafting" usually means cell-assisted lipotransfer: fat harvested by liposuction is enriched with stromal vascular fraction (SVF) from part of the same fat before it is injected. The added cells are intended to support blood vessel growth and graft survival. Despite the name, the graft is enriched with a mixed cell fraction, not with a purified or cultured stem cell product.

Overview
Part of the liposuctioned fat is processed into SVF, which is mixed with the remaining fat before injection. Systematic reviews of cell-assisted lipotransfer report generally higher retention than conventional grafting in pooled analyses, but study quality, cell dose and measurement methods vary, and regulatory status of SVF processing differs by country. It is not a stem cell therapy in the sense of culture-expanded cells.
